So you want to make Gold

Welcome to the Guild guide on how to make that ever important Gold.

These basic idea’s are based on Jaxom’s observations on how the game works in relation to gold. Please feel free to comment on anything in this section and introduce any ideas you may have.

The most important thing, Quests, do all the Quests you can find, grab them all. And one other small thing is You Have to Work at It to Make Gold!! Yes Work!! There is no easy way, it requires work.

First: – From Lvl 1 to Lvl 40 I would recommend choosing Skinning and Mining as your 2 professions. (There is nothing you need in this stage of the game you can’t get from either a drop or the Auction House and professions actually COST Gold). As you move through the world you SKIN everything you Kill (almost) and MINE every NODE you find and then you sell them in the Auction House (Get the add on “Auctioneer”) by the time you reach Lvl 40 you will have enough for your mount and be prepared for the next stage.

Second: – Ok you have a skinning knife and a pic and you are skinning and mining. Now go to the AH and buy the largest bags u can afford. A 10 slot bag will cost about 1g 50s, a 12 to 14 slot 3g 50s and a 16 slot 5g 50s.
You have one backpack and four bag slots (if you use ranged weapons one slot will need to be for ammo) so you need to buy either 3 or 4 bags.

Jaxom’s bags are setup like this, going from left to right (backpack is last)
1.) Alternate Weapons, Mounts, Pets, etc
2.) Food, Drink, Potions, Scrolls
3.) Quest items
4.) Empty
5.) Empty (backpack)

Canth’s bags are set up like this, Left to Right
1.) Ammo
2.) Food, Drink, Potions, Scrolls, Alternate Weapons, Mounts, Pets, etc
3.) Quest Items
4.) Empty
5.) Empty (backpack)

Now I admit Jaxom has saved up and has all 18 slot bags (except backpack) and has supplied Canth with the same. But this gives me at least 34 empty slots at all times.
(The new Interface has a button that will display the number of empty bag slots on your backpack, access through the Esc button)

Jaxom Note: Don’t be stupid and buy blue items from the Auction House you are wasting Gold, spend wisely and look at the armor links (Class pages) for your class.

So you have now Skinned and Mined your way to Lvl 40 have your mount and what do I do now? Now you go read the professions pages and decide what you want to do as a profession. With the exception of Herbalism you have the 2 main supply skills up to a good lvl and can therefore bring up the new profession quickly. (Leatherwork and Skinning, Mining and Blacksmith or Jewelcrafter)
